"A festival that brings cinema to life throughout the historic center of the Tuscan city and whose goal is to promote the arts, culture and economy of Lucca. A festival that has reached its third edition thanks to the teamwork of one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany. A festival that will see the Historic Center divided into 10 thematic areas, where the merchants will be the protagonists - setting up their own premises inspired by a film - and the participants will be completely immersed in the atmosphere of Lucca Effetto Cinema. "
This year the highlight of the festival will be in Piazza Anfiteatro which will be transformed into "Terry Gilliam's Movie Circus", a gigantic installation on the cinema of the greatest living visionary director.
A real Cinema Circus – as Monty Python's “Flying Circus” was for television, of which Gilliam is the founder as well as the only American member – in which installations and performances will give life to an event that is new in its formula and unique in the world and even in the multifaceted career of the director, a world-wide master of animation and considered the most visionary artist in the history of cinema after George Méliès.
Inside the official App, you will find all the events, the films represented and the venues, a geolocalised map with directions, a favourites function to create a personal agenda of events, all the news about the event and a Live Wall where the Instagram photos of the evening uploaded with the hashtag #lec2015 will appear in real time.
